Wednesday’s Whisper: Trout lilies

Trout lilies (Erythronium americanum, also known as adder tongues) are among the wild native spring ephemerals that bloom in my woods before the trees have leafed out. I photographed these on April 11, 2010.

Try to take time this week to slow down and notice what’s flowering around you. Isn’t it worth saving?
